Few things are New at Soccer Nation

August 3rd, 2008 · No Comments

Soccer - A few things are new that I could not wait any longer to announce:

1. We now own SoccerNation.com. We figured that domain was easier to remember for our customers and would help with branding and expanding our business image. Yes we dropped a good amount of money to purchase this domain but I believe it will be worth it in the long run as we are entering a new phase of our online business.

2. Futsal and Street soccer tournaments, leagues, and clinics are right around the corner. We are organizing date and location right now so stay tuned. For both Street Soccer and Futsal tournaments please check out StreetSoccerNation.com.

3. Watch out for our new tshirts coming out soon possibly end of this week. You can either drop by our store and check out website: SoccerNation.com

Futsal Soccer

July 24th, 2008 · No Comments

Soccer - Futsal soccer also known as FIFA approved indoor soccer is one of the fastest growing sports and branch of soccer in the world. Futsal is usually played in a basketball court indoor with indoor soccer shoes and a low bounce soccer ball.

If you are a soccer player I recommend you play Futsal every once in a while because besides the fact that is a good exercise, it also helps you with your touches, ball control, and skills. Many great pro soccer players such as Ronaldino, Zidane, and Ronaldo have played Futsal that is why they are so good with the ball.

If you haven’t played Futsal before, I recommend you to go to your nearest vacant indoor\outdoor basketball  or tennis court and just play. All you will need is some Futal or ndoor soccer shoes , a low bouncing futsal ball, and your skills.

To start, I recommend Select Futsal Ball Jina ball which is a great ball, and inspected by US Futsal Federation (USFF), and good price and good quality.

Enjoy dribbling around.

Iranian Rezazadeh Retires from Weightlifting Right Before the goodbye

July 24th, 2008 · No Comments

Sports - He is one of the world’s strongest men who has won the world heavy weight weightlifting championship four times and currently holds the world record and was expected to keep his record in upcoming summer Olympics in China and win the gold.

Instead due to serious recommendations of his doctor because of his health, he has announced his retirement. No specific reasons on what is wrong with his health yet. He was guaranteed the gold medal because the world record he holds is so high there hasn’t been any challenger and probably won’t be for at least a few more years.

He is one of my heroes not only because of holding the world record but also for his humble and selfless attitude and love for his people and country. I remember Turkey decided to invite him to become a Turkish citizen so he could compete for them, and they offered him a ton of money but he said no to them and ended up competing for his country for free.

Thanks Rezadadeh, get better,  va zendeh bashi.

Transfer Headlines

July 19th, 2008 · No Comments

Soccer - Soccer season is starting up, lots of news going on that is why I am blogging more about soccer these days.

Ronaldinhio’s transfer from Spanish FC Barcelona to Italian AC Milan got all the attention among the media but here are a few others:

- Per his agent, Kaka from AC Milan is still talking to Chelsea for a possible move.
- Real Madrid’s Robinho is being linked to a possible move to Chelsea as well according to his agent.
- Inter Milan has not given up on Chelsea yet. He is very likely to move to the Italian Serie A champions.
- Liverpool’s Xabi is strongly linked to Inter Milan as well. Alonso has also been linked with a move to Serie A giants Juventus.

It is sad there is so much going on but nothing much on Arsenal side. They are on verge of losing a couple of good players to other teams because they can’t afford to keep them as that new stadium has really driven them broke. As I have posted earlier, Arsenal fans should not expect too much from this team.

The team to watch this year would be Chelsea. Their new coach Scolari is a very capable coach, he is after bringing good players to that team, and I believe they will be the team to watch and enjoy.
